Did you know that the majority of kitchen cloths on the market are plastic based, meaning they can't be recycled and end up in landfill? Well not these bad boys! These kitchen sponge cloths by If You Care combine the cleaning and absorbency of a plastic-based fibre cloth, with excellent environmental credentials and a totally thought out approach to sustainability.
These reusable cloths are dishwasher-safe & machine washable (up to 300 washes at up to 88 degrees centigrade) - as well as being 100% compostable at the end of their useful lives . They are also durable and incredibly absorbent, absorbing 20 times their own weight in water for a variety of kitchen tasks.
This cloth can be used with water, soap or household cleaners except bleach or chlorine products. After use, just give it a thorough rinse, wring out the excess water to improve absorbency and leave it flat to dry.
On top of all this, this isn’t one of those products that looks brilliant but then turns up in petrochemical plastic that is destined for landfill. The packet is a corn-starch biopolymer and is certified for industrial composting.
Made with a three dimensional combination of cellulose, unbleached cotton and mirabilite (a natural mineral salt), these cloths are really something special. In the course of the patented process to make these innovative sponge cloths, the mineral is washed out, leaving a porous structure that allows it to absorb up to 20 times it's own weight in water. The blend that is left is 70% cellulose and 30% cotton and contains no petroleum products, plastic or animals products and are 100% renewable. To sum up, these If You Care sponge cloths are plastic free, compostable, reusable, vegan friendly, cruelty free AND super efficient! What's not to like?!
